Founded in 2009, Tailor Made Safaris forged itself a solid position in the South African tour operator market, by offering specialist knowledge and focussing on lesser known destinations, rather than to offer the 'Big names' all others were offering. It soon became the biggest tour operator specifically operating in the Elephant Coast and iSimangaliso Wetland Park of KwaZulu-Natal, which was recognised by the provincial tourism department when a joint markting agreement was signed. Over the years Tailor Made Safaris has expanded its destination portfolio though, as well as its product portfolio. From offering fully guided tours exclusively, Tailor Made Safaris now also sells self-drive tours and accommodation only packages. It's success has seen it partner up with the British TravelLocal travel agency, Africa Geographic and SafariBookings. Tailor Made Safaris now acts as a travel agent, independent tour operator and destination management company, all in one.
